About the Artwork

“Cherry Blossom” - During COVID 19 isolation, I began a series of paintings entitled Nature Squared. My idea was to bring to life abstract interpretations of nature from my memory. Rather than attempt to reproduce nature’s beauty in a realistic style, I painted based on the feelings and emotions that flowers, plants and natural elements invoke in me. This piece is based on my glimpse of cherry blossoms from my second story window. The colours and textures swirl across the canvas announcing the energy and hope of spring.
