About the Artwork

I started this intuitive painting only knowing that I wanted to create a feeling of spaciousness. I didn't know how I would do that except to keep a white background. I allowed the painting to evolve with mark making in black adding colour as it informed me what was wanted in a dance of making a mark and then responding to the mark, with a different shape, mark or colour until it felt complete.
