This group of horses ranges through the First Nations fields in the East Kootenays. I first spotted them on a bright sunny day. Their coats looked magnificent in the sunlight. I returned many times to talk to the group and photograph the ones brave enough to visit at the edge of the field. The horse in the foreground was basking in the warmth. I used many photos and sketches (on site )to create this work.
