About the Artwork
Last autumn, I spent several months observing the Canal Flats ( East Kootenays) Big Horned Sheep herd. This privilege allowed me to gather ample photographs and sketches which lead ultimately to the creation of this painting. The painting shows a group of males, the foreground Big Horned Sheep, being the oldest; hence the name of the piece is Alpha.
