About the Artwork

Part of my ongoing series "the Sound of Light" a celebration of Howe Sound in all its weather, hours and seasons.
The overlook of the tidal shore of Granthams Landing - here on the Sunshine Coast-inspired this composition. Our rugged shore, vintage cottages and historic wharf slip below the last of the winter light.

A strange phenomenon of the sun setting in the West - below a low layer of cloud, lights up the snow dusted North Shore mountains to the East.
The last of the lowering light touches the islands and tree tops and reflects back across the sea.
The Golden Hour - so much celebrated by painters throughout history...I hope I have captured it to share this spectacular natural place with all of you.
