From the Alpine Journey collection - 2022. Inspired by travel and plein air painting in the high alpine of the Bugaboos and Purcell Mt BC. Incredible sense of sweeping slopes and elevation as the scree slopes and icy slides descend to this jewel of a lake. The canvas is tinted and patterned with the speckle and color of the natural shale slopes and the rocks shoulder through the icefields rise in dark, massive peaks. I hope my vision and interpretation shares something of the incredible sights and sense of space as I stand on this slope.
