I explore modernist elements of abstraction in line and colour using complements in a minimalist field of colour. The main black background is build up with more than 30 successive layers of transparent alizarin and phthalo green glazes, providing a rich black that cannot be matched with a few layers of acrylic. Complementary colour lines are applied, causing the whole work to vibrate while being easy on the eye.
