About the Artwork
This old Douglas-fir stands on the UBC parking lot along Southwest Marine Drive, overlooking the Salish Sea. It has stood on The Bluffs weathering the cruel winds blowing off the Pacific for more than 250 years. Close to the ground on the west side, is a very large hole leading into the heart of this tree. As I was drawing the craggy bark, creatures appeared, so I let them be.
