About the Artwork
The evolved from a variety of studies on site. Rundle mountain is situated in Vermillion Lake off the trans Canada High way The unusual Wedge shape stands prominently against the other ridges in that mountain range. This area is renowned for hikers and daring mountain climbers coming from all over the world. I have painted this on site many times and wanted to capture the monumental scale in a larger format painting evoking its majesty and shape.
