The inspiration for this piece is the ancient concept of life as part of a continuum of birth, life, death, rebirth ... going on for eternity.
Other than the constraints imposed by the general theme, there were few rules governing the composition. Bright primary colours that celebrate the concept and prehistoric symbols were incorporated early in the painting process. Colour and shapes were applied in various ways and built up in multicoloured layers with several tools. The thick pebbly pigment reflects light in all directions, giving depth, luminosity and visual interest.
