Cliff Park (Maple Ridge, BC) in winter. I haven't rendered many winter scenes other than small pieces I use as examples for my art students. Painting winter scenes is usual for me because it is like painting with only various shades of black, small amounts of brown and green, and a touch of light blue. The Chickadees add a subtle amount of colour and a sense of playfulness. It is how winter looks in Cliff Park with a light covering of fresh snow that quietens sounds except for the odd scampering of small birds seeking seeds to eat and the movement of the occasional light breeze.
