Boobooks are endearing little owls native to Australia. The OWL Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society adopted one named Cricket from an owl centre that closed. She was imprinted to humans and now serves as one of OWL's education ambassadors. She was displayed at last year's Artists for Conservation Exhibition in which I participated. I took photos of Cricket in many different poses and composed this drawing from four of them. Two of the owls seemed to be concentrating on something on the branch, so I added a ladybug there.

Vancouver, British Columbia
Elisabeth is a Vancouver artist and printmaker. Her Métis heritage likely engendered a love of nature, visible in her artwork featuring landscapes, wildlife, and birds, particularly crows and owls.
"I've wanted to be an artist for as long as I can remember. I've never developed a loose, spontaneous like many painters. I prefer meticulous detail and happily spend weeks doing a single work of art. I love crows and owls which I return to as subjects again and again."
