Laura Fauman
Pitt Meadows, British Columbia
Laura Fauman is a Vancouver-raised painter whose liminal style emerges from lathering layers of acrylic on canvas, often using her bare hands.
Her self-taught technique (fine art finger painting!) evokes the experience of dream states, deep memory, and emotional intensity. She balances imprecision with the anchor of familiar form, focusing on iconic BC views, archetypal imagery, and figurative portraiture.
The through-line in Laura’s art is a refined expression of light in her playful lines and nuanced palettes, extending to the intentional pockets of texture and varnish she structures to glimmer and shine.
Laura’s work is collected by private and corporate art appreciators, and she provides art curation and display services within the Lower Mainland.

My paintings are uttterly mad flusters of response to the awe and ache of beauty I encounter in my natural, humanmade, and imagined worlds. The experiences fill me with wonder and affirm my own presence. Art is my delighted cry: I am here; this is gorgeous; it matters.
