About the Artwork
This acrylic and conte pencil painting on canvas celebrates the courageous women who also helped pave the way to Confederation, establishing the Dominion of Canada. Each figure represents the diverse cultures that have shaped our glorious country. I choose to represent each woman with similar coloured hair, suggesting a coming together for a common goal.
