Where I grew up we could see the land for miles. The land looked like a brown quilt. In this painting, I flattened the land so the quilt was visible. I painted the effect of the first snow on the land. The glow of freshly turned earth colours in the early light is a memory that I shall keep forever.

Nature and the world around her inspire Doris. Mixed media is Doris’ favorite form of painting. She loves exploring textures, shapes, and a more contemporary look. Art has become a voyage of discovery and she follows it to see where it will bring her.
"Capturing memories in a way that a camera cannot, my paintings invite you to explore the subject; quietly discovering what is really there. Each painting is a story waiting to happen"
