About the Artwork
The poster child for climate change; this magnificent polar bear was locked in the Churchill "polar bear jail". The confinement for unruly bears has since been renamed a "holding facility". This massive male was regarded as a troublesome and dangerous bear, roaming around the town or Churchill. It was awaiting relocation. I like how the bars blend in with the underpainting. It is also a metaphor for climate change as the subtle nuances can not always been seen.
