A helicopter ride to a ridge overlooking Cobalt Lake was breathtaking. The clouds parted for only a few minutes and I was able to capture the spire in a hurried rush a la plein aire. My mentor and sage Robert Genn was beside me. My rendition is very different from his sketch. However, it was a magical moment. I felt as if my father was alongside.
