About the Artwork

This collage is part of a collection of mushrooms done for the Fantastic Fungi community collaborative installation at the Salmon Arm Art Gallery in 2024. I picked these small mushrooms from our newly planted grass here in Salmon Arm, BC. They are Panaeolus foenisecii, commonly called the mower's mushroom, haymaker, haymaker's panaeolus,[2] or brown hay mushroom. They are a very common and widely distributed little brown mushroom often found on lawns and is not an edible mushroom.
