About the Artwork
I am fascinated and reassured by the sense of geologic time inscribed on the sandstone bluffs of the Gulf Islands. In this painting I’ve used carbon derivatives dragged through wet paint to convey a feeling of layered etching and splatter, mimicking the complex artistry of the natural world.
