Beginning my journey as an artist I began to work from life, not photos. I learned the small subtle shifts of light, color and movement simply by observing and studying what we see, only then did I really begin to "see" the world around us with new and exploring eyes. I learned that we do not paint "things" we paint "light and effects" From these still-lifes I was drawn to the mountains and began to plen aire paint into the wild with a newfound ability to really see our world
