About the Artwork

The lotus is a revered symbol in Chinese culture, representing purity, enlightenment, and the triumph of the spirit over the material world. In the painting, the lotus flowers are depicted in various stages of bloom, from fully opened blossoms to tightly closed buds. The leaves are rendered in a distinctive, oval shape with pointed tips, and are shown either floating on the surface of the water or submerged beneath it.
