The lotus has been a divine symbol in Asian traditions. It is one of the Auspicious Signs pertaining to a number of Dharmic Traditions, such as Buddhism. In Chinese culture, the lotus is the “gentleman among flowers.”, which presents in figurative form, representing elegance, beauty, perfection, purity, and grace. In this painting, I used multi-lay painting methods by using mineral pigments in painting of lotus flowers in the summertime. The choice of multiple colors is to reflect the colorful scene of the lotus pond in summer.
