Cruising the North Coast in 2021 in our 42 trawler we explored the end of Monckton Inlet which is on Pitt Island, off Principe Channel. It is part of the Nii Luutiksm Conservancy. The head of the inlet was beautiful with wonderful molded rocks an lagoon and islets, especially in the evening light. The light on the rock inspired me to try to capture the tones of this image. It was one of the first paintings done in the fall when we returned to Campbell River from our 2 month boat adventure which took us as far as Stewart.
