Meg Bryden
Burnaby, British Columbia
Meg Bryden is a Vancouver–based oil painter whose work is rooted in representational naturalism, capturing the vivid beauty of the West Coast and surrounding environments. She paints landscapes, cityscapes, figures, and botanical subjects with a strong focus on bold color, detailed textures, and storytelling. A recurring theme in her work is water — its movement, light, depth, and reflective qualities — influenced by her love of kayaking and the ocean, especially coastal areas like Desolation Sound, BC.
Though relatively self-taught in formal painting, her artistic journey blends early observational drawing learned from her father with later experiences in music and graphic design, contributing to a dynamic sense of rhythm, structure, and storytelling in her compositions.

My paintings come from a deep love of nature, personal history, and place. I strive to connect and tell a story with my art.
