Born to a professional artist, Mark learned to paint in his mother's art studio. By the age of 12, and under her tutelage, Mark sold his first oil paintings in the family art gallery near Gananoque and the Thousand Islands. Like his mother, Mark took his painting inspiration from the beautiful rural surroundings, including lakes, islands, rivers, trees, and farmland.
After a 30-year career in finance in Toronto and extensive travel worldwide, Mark rediscovered his passion for art and embarked on his second artistic journey. His style is representational, working with acrylics and exploring a variety of subjects, including nature and urban scenes. He draws the viewer in by emphasizing colour, light, and shadow to evoke positive emotions and feelings.
