Lois lives in Barrhead County, Alberta. She has always been an outdoors person. Her undergraduate degree is in Forestry (B.Sc.) and she spent a couple decades working in the boreal forests of Western Canada, before moving on to obtain two additional degrees (MA in Environmental Sustainability and Ph. D in Strategic Foresight). Through all those years, she had zero time for art. In 2020, with life disrupted by the pandemic, she decided she was going make a new career as an artist. Since that time, Lois has built her skills and knowledge by taking workshops, mentoring with accomplished artists, and painting every day. She hopes her paintings evoke the sights and sounds and memories of your travels around western Canada.
