Brian Gleckman
Vancouver, British Columbia
Brian Gleckman is a Vancouver-based abstract and colour field painter. Originally from Los Angeles, Brian is inspired by the energy and tension of Fauvism, Abstract Expressionism, and Minimalism. His paintings fuse these influences by focusing on the visual and conceptual potential of composition.
Often working in monochromatic or understated colour schemes, many of Brian’s paintings are infused with ambiguous depth and a simultaneous sense of directness and subtlety. His canvases reflect compositional intent, yet allow for elements of the unexpected to present themselves and to flesh out the immersive nature of his vision.
His paintings have been shown in private and public galleries in the Lower Mainland region of Vancouver, and are collected in Canada and the United States.

The aim of my art is not to portray the physical world, as it appears; rather, it is to share the inspiration derived from those things that are known, felt, and otherwise perceived.
