About the Artwork

"Breaking the Cycle" is a very powerful painting! My inspiration comes from: Brené Brown’s "Manifesto of the Brave and Brokenhearted":

There is no greater threat to the critics
and cynics and fearmongers
than those of us who are willing to fall,
because we have learned how to rise.

With skinned knees and bruised hearts,
we choose owning our stories of struggle,
over hiding, over hustling, over pretending.

When we deny our stories, they define us.
When we run from struggle, we are never free.
So we turn toward truth and look it in the eye.

I am deeply passionate and emotional, creating with freedom and intuition as each brush stroke reflects my memories and experiences. Art opens an internal dialogue for me and mirrors my emotions of the moment. New perspectives unfold as each painting takes shape on the canvas.

"My hope is that my authentic and unique experiences expressed in my paintings also leave lots of room for the viewer’s imagination and interpretation, and that each piece touches someone deeply. I have fulfilled this goal when my art resonates with them and sparks their soul."
