The Cross Fox is a variation of the Red Fox that can be found in central and northern British Columbia. Its name refers to its distinctive coloration, which is caused by a genetic mutation leading to increased melanin production and resulting in darker fur. This pattern typically includes a vertical dark band along its back crossed by a horizontal dark band across the shoulders. Cross foxes are found throughout northern regions of North America and make up as much as 30% of the red fox population in Canada.

Chris has always been inspired by nature and it is reflected in her work. She is captivated by the colour, spontaneity and wonder that every element of the outside world brings. Like snowflakes, no two elements are identical and thats what inspires her.
""Have you ever stood in a forest after a spring rain and really looked at, or even tried to count, all the amazing shades of green? It's impossible and fantastic all at once. Nature is true magic, flashing her brilliance at us all the time...when we remember to look""
