The Cross Fox, found in northern British Columbia and throughout the Cariboo region, is a rare colour variation of the Red Fox. Its dark, cross-shaped marking along the back and shoulders gives it a striking presence, shaped by a higher concentration of melanin in its coat. To encounter one is to witness a fleeting gift from nature. Its presence also speaks to the conservation value of healthy, connected habitats, where wild species can move, hunt, den, and continue their quiet role within the ecosystem.
