About the Artwork

This painting illustrates a forest which was ravaged by fire in 1909. During this rebirth, my father and grandfather worked in this forest to create an environment conducive to new life. They removed dead trees as well as replanting new ones, all the while taking great care not to damage existing saplings. Their work was not simply human intervention, but a true collaboration with nature, because the benefits of this relationship are reciprocal.
This painting is therefore a tribute to this essential link between man and nature. It's a reminder of the importance of cultivating this relationship to ensure a future where everyone can flourish. Together, man and nature can overcome challenges and emerge stronger, proving that, of their union, is born true harmony.

In each of my tree portraits, I integrate small pieces of real bark. They are a tangible reminder of the precious and fragile co-presence between man and nature.

"...BECAUSE EVERY TREE HAS ITS OWN STORY."
