Shirley Ann is an artist currently living in Renfrew, Ontario. She has lived in several provinces across Canada and has a deep appreciation for the beauty of this country. As a young child, Shirley Ann would spend hours drawing, always preferring animals, and making their personalities come to life on paper or canvas. She started studying coloured pencil techniques, and worked with that medium for 20 years. More recently, she has branched into acrylic paints due to the strength of their colours and textures she can achieve. Shirley Ann considers her art education as self-directed. She has taken numerous courses over the years including at the University of Calgary and Northmount Arts Centre.
