Painted en plein air in Parc national de Plaisance, in Quebec, this work captures the vibrant colors of autumn unfolding across gentle hills surrounding an ancestral home. A winding path draws the eye through the landscape, inviting a quiet passage into a place shaped by both nature and memory.
Created during a bright, windy day, the painting reflects my direct sensory experience of the site—the movement of grasses in the wind, the crisp air, and the shifting sunlight illuminating the foliage in rich reds, golds, and greens. I sought to convey not only the visual beauty of the scene, but the living atmosphere of the moment.
This landscape evokes the deep connection between natural cycles and cultural heritage, where seasonal change transforms familiar places into luminous expressions of time, resilience, and belonging.
