The pure unblemished mind of a child is a beautiful thing. Their minds are true. They see things as they truly are. To a young unspoiled mind, a dandelion is a beautiful flower. Their minds have not yet been altered in seeing dandelions as an ugly weed to be discarded.
Our backyard overlooks a community league soccer field park. Last spring, the entire field was covered with thousands of dandelions. I had never seen the field look so beautiful! My inspiration for this painting came from this lovely dandelion filled field along with my precious memories of my three adorable children joyously picking dandelions for me every spring time. Their pure minds only saw beauty when looking at these flowers and wanted to share it with their mommy. Through their minds, I was able to return to seeing the beauty of these plentiful wild flowers.
During this challenging time in the world, our focus is steered towards what truly matters. Unblemish our minds by seeing the true beauty of mankind. Similar to dandelions, mankind’s beauty is resilient and persistent to continue surviving.
