I often hear people speak derogatorily about blackbirds in general. I find this irritating. The rich colours in the black sheens are wonderful. The Grackles were often referred to as the Bronze Grackles because of their iridescent colours. I decided to show these wonderful sheens and place them in the pews at St Paul's Cathedral. In this church are some stained glass widows by Tiffany and the birds complement the glow in his glass pieces.
