This is a plein air piece done on location at Rathtrevor Provincial Park, near Parksville, BC Canada, on Vancouver Island. There were several artists painting, tourists milling about, and it was raining on this June day. Not the most ideal conditions, but I persevered and produced two paintings from this session. This piece represents my growth as an artist in feeling confident enough to paint out in public, and to persevere in adverse conditions.

Every day I experience something in nature that invokes a response: a need to create and express an instance in time. I love the challenge of creating texture, reflection, and light. I'm grateful to live where this is evident in abundance each day.
