Steller's Jays like to hang out where there are mountains and people. They are such characters to watch, as they flit about, trying to lure you into sharing your food. If you are patient with your camera they sometimes are habituated enough to land right next to you. This one seemed to preen for me as it fluttered from the birches to the ground and back again. Seen at Bijoux Falls Provincial Park in the Pine Pass, Northern BC.

Every day I experience something in nature that invokes a response: a need to create and express an instance in time. I love the challenge of creating texture, reflection, and light. I'm grateful to live where this is evident in abundance each day.
