About the Artwork

This playful piece vibes to Maracas and Mariachi music. The rhythm, mystery and depth that is intrinsic to that culture. Abstraction; dance; music; poetry; joy and humour. Refranes/refrains: ‘in the absence of bread, tortillas’ ...‘the brave man lives until the coward wants’...‘he who walks with wolves learns to howl’... ‘a parakeet is green no matter where it goes’...‘full belly, happy heart’. Culture never occurs in isolation and is inherently shared.
