Evelyn Peters McLellan
Delta, British Columbia
I started painting in late 2019. A long-time admirer of art, I had finally decided to try my hand at painting using acrylics and canvas. My goal was landscapes, but after a few years of hard work and enjoyment painting those, I started feeling a pull in another direction - abstracts.
My current work features acrylic paint, oil and wax pastels and coloured pencil on paper or wood panel. I continue to experiment with varying levels of abstraction, and at several points during any work I find myself asking "What happens if I try [x, y and z]?". Sometimes things work and sometimes they don't!

My pieces are an exploration of form, colour and texture in various media. My efforts don't always work, which makes the successes enormously satisfying!
