Maureen Atkinson is a painter and weaver based in Victoria BC who's passion for nature is evident in every piece of art she creates. Inspired by the natural world around her, Maureen's art reflects her deep connection to the landscapes of British Columbia. Her choice of subject, composition and colour palette are in formed by what she sees around her. She loves to paint 'plein air' to capture the immediacy of what surrounds her.
Maureen's artistic journey has evolved over many years, starting with her formal education in the arts. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria and a Masters in Education from the University of Vancouver.
