About the Artwork

My family and my art are my two greatest passions and I find myself constantly navigating a delicate balance between the two. I love painting urban landscape scenes, but as my family's primary caregiver, family always comes first. This can lead to lost time dedicated to creating when family responsibilities arise. This piece demonstrates how my family life always comes before my work.

Ashley Thimot

Edmonton, Alberta

I’m exploring painting the seemingly mundane urban landscape found within my neighbourhood. Through thoughtful composition and dramatic lighting, I want to show the viewer the beauty of my everyday surroundings.
