This painting shows Cornus canadensis, or bunchberry—a small forest plant native to Canada. I was inspired by its soft white flowers that greet us each spring on forest walks near my home. Local plants like this one remind me how much beauty lives quietly underfoot. I painted it in watercolor to capture its delicate form.
