Alyena Munzar

Victoria, British Columbia

Alyena is a Vancouver Island-based artist working in oil painting, exploring portraiture and the human figure, often set in nature, capturing emotion, facial expression, and connection to the world around them. Her work delves into narratives around quietude, femininity, and how the figure becomes part of the environment.

"The natural world and unique landscapes of Vancouver Island - particularly the softness, curvature, and quietness of nature, are all recurring influences in my paintings. I particularly enjoy painting the curves, bends, and soft lines found in nature and the human figure to create a sense of harmony and flow."
