I do paint from my own photo references but I also paint entirely from memory. I tend to attack my canvases with reckless abandon, mixing colors as I go. There is rarely a plan. While I am painting I feel as though I have transported into a memory while simultaneously putting it onto my canvas. It’s quite the experience and usually fast and furious. I hear the wind and waves crashing and feel the sun and rain on my skin as each stroke of paint hits the canvas. Each of my paintings are quite literally a piece of me. I am inspired by the beauty and nature of the Pacific North West but I love to travel.
