Carol Kong

Carol Kong is a part-time painter and ceramicist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She holds a B.A.Sc. from the University of Toronto, and is a practicing Professional Engineer in transit planning and design. Although a creative since childhood, her artistic practice only began in 2019 through the continuing studies Fine Arts Certificate program at Emily Carr University. Her training has included workshops by esteemed local painters, alongside a disciplined approach to studying the masters and observing her surroundings.
As a Chinese-Canadian born in Toronto, Ontario, Carol seeks to understand the identity of belonging in between both cultures. She finds poetic beauty in daily life, particularly in unnoticed objects and the forgettable moments that pass quickly.
