For over a decade, Brian Eby‘s art journey has focussed on the exploration of light and perspective in urban landscapes. After a number of successful group and solo exhibitions, he decided, for a variety of reasons, to take a pause. This break enabled him to reflect and experiment. Eby now primarily focuses on exploring the complex and captivating landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
Eby examines the inherent conflict when trying to convey an image that is inviting to the eye, drawing you into a complex scene, despite it being rendered with simplicity, bold colour, and loose brush strokes. A methodological messiness that somehow is still balanced.
