Reinventing myself after retirement led to the challenge of self-teaching myself to paint...not recommended! Surprisingly though, sometimes when you are unencumbered by formal training, the magic of creating something artistic can be both astonishing and humbling. To me, pushing those boundaries can define and energize your personal growth. Working my way through the requirements of satisfying the qualifications required to achieve the various levels of competency set out by the Federation of Canadian Artists, has inspired me to continue creating art that rises to the Federation's standard of excellence.
My works can be described as "abstract realism", which allows me to interpert real images as the way I see, what I saw.
