Robin Nyikos was born into a family that valued and encouraged participation in the arts.
After graduating from The Ontario College of Art, she traveled to Florence, Italy to pursue postgraduate studies. She stayed in Europe for the next six years painting commissioned portraits and landscapes.
After moving back to Canada, Robin settled with her husband and two children in Collingwood, Ontario. She maintains a studio in her home.
Nyikos art is inspired by the seasonal effects of light and weather on the wild rocky shores of Georgian Bay and fields and forests around Collingwood. She works realistically painting ‘en pleine air’ in oils or drawing in charcoal.
Back in the studio, Robin works her ideas into larger drawings or paintings in oils.
Robin Nyikos art work has been collected in Europe, the USA and Canada.
