Ballet was my first outlet to share feelings, ideas and beauty with others. First as a performer expressing the stories of my choreographers, then in becoming the choreographer I utilized the dancers to express my creative concepts with emotion and story. Their bodies and physical vocabulary were my paint and brushes. As I moved into painting as my creative expression I have become enamoured with abstracting my work exploring texture, shape and luscious colour!
My wish for you, the viewer, is to be drawn to my work by the exploration of the interplay between colour and texture…and then to be held in the work by the story or emotion you feel as you look deeper.
At the heart of my creation is the desire to invite the viewer to escape into luscious colour and texture.
