Born into a wacky Vaudevillian family of actors, musicians, crusaders and malcontents, Delora’s young creative voice was pretty much stifled as louder family members took centre stage. But creativity can’t be squashed forever. Delora is a contemporary impressionist painter who loves landscapes but has a passion for portraiture, probably stemming from when her mother used an unframed portrait of herself as a sled for young Delora by drilling two holes through the canvas board and inserting a rope. The repaired work now hangs in Delora’s home (although she’s prone to telling people her Mom was a gangster’s moll and the holes were a result of gun shots!) Delora paints in both oils and acrylics.
